The exhibition at the Bory campus features top scientists and managers, including experts from UWB

Science and research Exhibition

The travelling exhibition “Pilsen Region: A Region for the Future” presents the faces and stories of eighteen selected experts, aiming to inspire young talent and startups. It will be on display at the UWB campus until December 19.

This year, four experts from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen presented their professional and personal journeys on large-format panels. Thanks to this exhibition project organized by the Pilsen Region, visitors can learn about Ivana Zetková, an expert in residue-free 3D metal printing from the Regional Technology Institute of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Lucie Houdová, a developer of a database for the bone marrow donor registry from the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The exhibition also highlights the stories of Jiří Kuthan, a specialist in the electrostatic separation of plastics from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Jan Korabečný, head of the industrial design studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art.

The region has been organizing the exhibition showcasing leading local experts since 2003. It is part of the Smart Accelerator project, which supports research, development and innovation. The large-format panels are intended primarily to inspire promising startups, emerging companies and young talent. In addition to stories of experts from the UWB, visitors can also learn about the success stories of a physician from the Biomedical Center, the founders of the startups Jalud Embedded, PinFlow and MarbleMat, managers from successful regional companies and specialists dedicated to educating young talent. This year, the region also involved high school students in the project.

“For the first time, we also introduced four young, promising, and highly inspiring talents who are involved, among other things, in the GoHigher community — an initiative that I believe makes a great deal of sense. In doing so, the Pilsen Region is showing its commitment to supporting creative people in research, development and innovation,” said Jáchym Klimko, head of the Smart Accelerator marketing team.

The exhibition Pilsen Region: A Region for the Future has been touring the region since June. It will be on display in the area in front of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering building on the UWB campus at Bory until the last Friday before Christmas, December 19. The Region presents it under the GetSmart brand, through which it builds its innovation ecosystem. More information is available on the websites inovujtevpk.cz, GoHigher and on the GetSmart Facebook page.
