The University of Hradec Králové, which has four faculties and approximately six thousand students, has had new management since the beginning of July. Physicist Jak Kříž has become the rector. He and his team visited the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen on Monday 23rd of September.
Although the University of West Bohemia is larger than the one in Hradec Králové with nine faculties and twelve thousand students, they found several common themes and experiences to exchange. The main goal was, among other things, to enrich each other's approaches to teaching, research and university administration in general.
The Rector of UHK, who is a physicist by background, and the Rector of UWB, an expert in mathematics, after official meetings in an informal atmosphere and based on their common interest in technical and natural science disciplines, agreed to visit the NTIS research centre at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of UWB, where they focus on advanced technologies and innovations. This visit was a further step to deepen the cooperation between the two universities.
