Jewellery techniques and figurative drawing or painting have traditionally been the most popular and are the most quickly discussed among those interested in courses. But apart from these, Sutnarka will also offer digital photography or modern artistic movements. Courses are usually held once a week for 13 weeks from February to May, and thus correspond in length to the summer semester of the academic year.
What makes the courses offered exceptional are the lecturers, who are both active artists and university lecturers. Participants thus gain knowledge directly from professionals in the field. "Thanks to small groups of up to ten people, the lecturers pride themselves on an individual approach to each participant. Those interested will create in modernly equipped studios with professional facilities that correspond to current trends in design and art," said Martina Jeriová, Lifelong Learning Officer at FDU UWB.
The course participants are usually future students of the faculty, for whom the first acquaintance with the premises and teachers is a significant advantage - they can apply the credits they have earned during their subsequent bachelor's or master's studies. All graduates, regardless of their interest in everyday studying, receive an official certificate of graduation. Applicants often include professionals who want to improve their skills or those who pursue art in their spare time.
Interested candidates can apply until 31 January 2025, and the actual teaching will start in the week of 10 February 2025. Detailed information about the course offerings and applications are available on the website.
