Running, walking, cycling, scootering or skating is possible during the competition, which will take place from 1 to 29 April. Not only will participants do something for their health, but they will also contribute to a good cause. The kilometres they cover will be converted into money that will go to charity. "This year we want to support Vilímek. Vilém has a severe form of cerebral palsy and cannot do without regular rehabilitation, which the family of five cannot fully cover from their own funds. Therefore, he welcomes any financial contribution," said Pavel Červenka from the Institute of Physical Education and Sport (UTS).
You can apply at any time, even during April.
The mileage and kilometres covered by the faculties and non-faculty departments of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen will be evaluated every week and each faculty or department has the opportunity to earn points for the overall evaluation.
The competition takes place in two disciplines:
Running and Walking and Bike and Scooter.
Users record their physical activity during the period via an optional mobile app on their mobile device and upload it to the portal. Each week, the number of kilometres covered in the respective disciplines is then evaluated. The overall winner of the challenge is the team that scores the most points over the 4 weeks in the sum of both disciplines.
Individuals can also earn extra points for their faculty in the third and fourth weeks of the challenge:
Week Three
1 Extra Point for the individual who runs/walk/rides the most miles in a single day in a given discipline.
2 Extra points for the individual with the most total kilometers in a given discipline in a given week.
Week 4:
1 Extra Point for the individual with the most elevation gain in one activity in a given discipline; walking more than 1000m and riding more than 1500m.
