230 teachers, students and other participants interested in the meaningful use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education gathered at the Teacher IN conference in Pilsen. The event was dominated by artificial intelligence.

Over 200 people interested in news and suggestions for teaching in the field of ICT gathered on Saturday 12 October at the 10th anniversary conference Teacher IN at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The topics had a chance to attract especially those participants who are interested in artificial intelligence (AI).

The conference at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (FEL ZČU) was opened by the Rector of the University Miroslav Lávička: "I am happy that the event is being held at the University of West Bohemia and that it is already the 10th year. I hope that the conference will have many more successful editions."

Miroslav Staněk, an experienced educator, gave an inspiring introduction to the conference with his lecture AI and digital technologies - what have they changed, are they changing and will they change in teaching and education? He managed to win over the audience so much that they rewarded him with an enthusiastic standing ovation at the end.

In the next part of the conference, each participant could choose two of the 18 workshops on offer according to their interests. As last year, the main topic of many of them was artificial intelligence. However, other technologies and tools such as robotic kits, BBC micro:bit, 3D printing or various practical applications and their use in education were not left out.

"At the end of the conference, we decided to include a panel discussion in which I debated with guest speakers on the topic of How to be 10 years IN," said the founder of the conference and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education Lucie Rohlíková.

The event is organized by the Department of Lifelong and Distance Education, which also prepared the Učitel IN website. On the website you will find detailed information about the workshops, recordings of plenary lectures and selected workshops and a photo gallery. It has not yet been determined what topics the conference will enter its second decade with, but those interested can already put the date of the next edition in their diaries, 11 October 2025.
