On 12 September, UWB went to Tachov with the Day of Science and Technology for the first time and the choice of the city was not random. "We need to focus on those regions in the Pilsen Region where applicants are not yet coming to us. That is why we bring the university to them," said Jan Váně, Vice-Rector for External Relations, before the event. The aim was to show the children some of the paths they can choose for their future education and profession.
Thirty displays were dedicated to technology, economics, pedagogy, law or history and philosophy. Schools spent several hours browsing through the various stands, undeterred even by the autumn weather. "I believe that such an experience can arouse the desire to discover or invent in many students. And Tachov needs enthusiastic students who will want to change their surroundings for the better," said the Mayor of Tachov Petr Vrána.
