The graphic designer has been appointed Professor of Visual Arts upon the recommendation of the Art Council of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
"I have worked on projects such as the development of a unified visual identity for the University of Pardubice, collaborated long-term with the Czech Technical University in Prague, and designed promotional materials, books, academic publications, and many other materials for the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen," stated the newly appointed professor, Kristýna Fišerová. A graduate of the Graphic Design and Visual Communication studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, she has been teaching at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art since 2014, where she leads the Graphic Design and Visual Communication studio at the Master´s Degree Programme.
Professor Fišerová's work has received numerous prestigious awards, including international accolades such as the Red Dot Award and the AIAP Women in Design Award. Her other achievements include a nomination for the Tokyo Typedirectors Club for her innovative graphic treatment of the façade of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art and the Joseph Binder Award for the graphic design of the CTPark hall, the Technická bus stop, and the information system for CTPark in Pilsen. She was also nominated for the European Design Award for her graphic design of the CTPark hall.
As a respected expert, Kristýna Fišerová serves on numerous professional juries, evaluating visual identity proposals for cities, organizations, and cultural projects. Her publications include articles addressing contemporary challenges in graphic design, reflecting not only on trends but also on the social context of the field. In her professional texts, she regularly analyzes current trends in visual communication—from election campaigns and sports branding to the design of festival posters.
The professorship represents the culmination of many years of systematic work by this expert, whose practice transcends graphic design to become a socially relevant communication tool.
