The Department of Music Education and Culture at the Faculty of Education, University of West Bohemia, invites all lovers of sacred music to an organ concert by Slovak performer Marek Štrbák. The concert will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew in Pilsen.
The program will include, among others, Prelude and Fugue in E-flat Major, BWV 552 dedicated to the Holy Trinity by J. S. Bach, Chorale No. 2 in B major by César Franck, A Festive Voluntary by Petr Eben – variations on the song Good King Wenceslas, and Variations sur un Noël by Marcel Dupré. The concert will close with Bach’s chorale prelude Allein Gott in der Höh’ sei Ehr (Glory to God Alone on High).
Marek Štrbák teaches at the Department of Keyboard Instruments of the Music and Dance Faculty at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. He is the recipient of numerous awards from Slovak and international competitions, and his organ playing is admired for its technical precision and profound spiritual expression.
