Evaluating the past 12 months, presenting future plans, and discussing them were the main objectives of the joint meeting scheduled for March 1st.

Planned budgetary changes, the impact of the new amendment to the Higher Education Act, investment activities, social security, and safety in general, strategies for the next period, the EUPeace university alliance, and university-wide actions from the perspective of external relations were the main topics of the meeting between the management of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and department heads held on Friday, March 1st.

Rector Miroslav Lávička, Bursar Petr Beneš, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development Josef Basl, Vice-Rector for Educational Planning and Student Affairs Jiří Kohout, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Communication Jan Váně, and Chancellor Lucie Václavová Čulíková met with department heads exactly 12 months after assuming office. They not only presented the topics to them but were also prepared to discuss them.

"We are closing one chapter. One year, which has been very hectic, to some extent trial and observational. We believe that in the second year, we will begin to change many of the things we have been getting acquainted with," said the rector at the beginning. "But if I had known in advance everything that needed to be done, I would definitely go for it again. What we have already initiated with colleagues and what lies ahead must happen for us to further advance our university," he added.
