Greater interest in legal education: the FPR ZČU has received a high number of applicants

Students Achievements

The Faculty of Law of ZČU has registered great interest in studying within its accredited study programmes. According to the management of the faculty, this may be the reason for the good application of FPR graduates on the labour market. The study programmes are both theoretical and practical.

This year, 1,745 applicants have expressed interest in the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (FPR UWB).This is 300 more than in 2023. 538 first-year students finally took their seats in this year's winter semester of the academic year 2024/2025.

"Interest in studying at the Faculty of Law is constantly growing. We explain this not only by the general attractiveness of legal studies, but above all, although in all modesty, also by the attractiveness of studying at our Faculty itself," explains the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law Jan Pauly.

Three quarters of applicants are interested in the five-year Master's programme Law and Legal Science, followed by the Bachelor's programme Legal Specialisation, the follow-up Master's programme Public Administration and the Doctoral programme Theoretical Legal Sciences with a specialisation in Civil Law.

"Our graduates do not have any problems with finding employment on the labour market," said Petra Hrubá Smržová, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Law of ZČU. "The study programmes provided by the faculty reflect social demand. Students can choose from a number of compulsory elective courses not only of a theoretical but also of a skills-based nature," the vice-dean added.
