Ladislav Sutnar Gallery (Riegrova 11) will be open until 11:00 PM for the unique project Venus Today. This exhibition is the work of students from various studios who worked intensively on it during the winter semester of 2024/2025. Their creations are inspired not only by the Venus of Věstonice, marking one hundred years since its discovery this year, but also by her prehistoric "colleagues," related archaeological research, and the wide palette of forms and meanings of Venuses throughout history. The exhibition concept was prepared by curator Daniela Kramerová.
The Main Building of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art (Univerzitní 28) will offer until 8:00 PM the opportunity to view an exhibition of thesis works by bachelor's and master's program students. This annual exhibition reflects the broad spectrum of approaches to design, illustration, fine and applied arts, game creation, and intermedia communication. On display are, for example, toothbrush models created by students from the Industrial Design studio, pop-up books from the Book and Paper Shaping studio, fashion accessories, footwear and clothing from the Fashion Design studio, or the giant colorful object Ma-ma from the Sculpture and Space studio.
Both exhibitions can be visited free of charge. The Ladislav Sutnar Gallery is accessible on foot from the city center, while the faculty building can be reached by tram line No. 4 (University stop).
Visiting these exhibitions presents a suitable opportunity to become better acquainted with the work of the emerging generation of artists and designers.
