In the summer of 1992, Professor J. K. St. Joseph from Cambridge, one of the most important figures in aerial archaeology in the 20th century, opened a new chapter in aerial reconnaissance in Hungarian archaeology, as the co-pilot of Otto Braasch. As an active participant in these researches from the very beginning, I would like to give an overview on them; do they only provide colourful pictures and basic information for landscape archaeology or more?
