The vicious attack by Hamas, in which the civilians of the State of Israel and foreign nationals were murdered, shocked the world. The leadership of the University of West Bohemia condemns it unequivocally and expresses its support and readiness to help Israeli students, teachers and researchers.

“Citizens of Israel study and work at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen; we have partner institutions in the Israeli cities of Ariel, Beersheba, Holon, Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and I believe that our relationship is not only professional, but often friendly,” said the UWB Rector Miroslav Lávička.

“On Sunday, the Israeli army decided to close schools across the entire paralysed country. It’s hard to imagine that a school could be potentially dangerous, but reality has shown once again that even the barely imaginable can happen.

We are thinking of those who have lost their loved ones, their property and entire homes, and want to provide our maximum support to those who are trying to restore what still can be restored. The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen expresses its support and readiness to provide aid,” said the rector.
