Students can work at WITTE even as undergraduates. The company cooperates with FME

Climate chambers, digital engineering, or 3D printing are not the only areas students from the university can work on at WITTE. The management of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the company's managing director signed a partnership agreement, officially solidifying their long-standing ties.

For the past ten years, students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (FST UWB) have had the opportunity to engage in the activities of the WITTE Automotive development center, which has been located in the faculty building since 2015. They can start as undergraduates, and many of them join the company after completing their studies.

One such example is Vojtěch Cibulka, who works on the development of automotive locking systems in the Pilsen office. "I joined WITTE in my third year of undergraduate studies, where I studied the design of production machinery and equipment. I started as a drafter and gradually worked my way up to the head of the product center. Working with WITTE during my studies brought me many opportunities for professional and personal growth, which is why I decided to stay here after school and work in a field that excites and develops me," Vojtěch explained.

The company has been a member of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering's Industrial Council from the beginning and supports, among other things, the student formula team. On February 13, Dean Vladimír Duchek and WITTE Automotive's managing director Petr Tatarka signed a partnership agreement at the faculty headquarters, officially solidifying their long-standing ties. Also present were the faculty's Vice-Dean for External Relations and Development Milan Edl and WITTE's HR Manager Lucie Holubová.

"We collaborate with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on contract research projects, such as 3D printing and climate chambers, and we have many joint projects. It makes sense for us to support the student formula team, which involves multiple faculties. We employ students in our Pilsen office, where they engage in digital engineering, project management, or business," said Petr Tatarka.

"The partnership with WITTE Automotive also contributes to fulfilling our university's strategy, which emphasizes expanding higher education activities into the Karlovy Vary Region," added Vladimír Duchek.

WITTE Automotive is among the global technological leaders in the field of automotive locking and control systems. In the Czech Republic, it operates in two locations in the Karlovy Vary Region—Nejdek and Ostrov, and also has development offices in Pilsen at the University of West Bohemia campus and in Prague.
