Aesthetic Medicine enters the Sutnar Faculty

Guests Cooperation Students

Students, professors, and assistants from the Product Design studio at the Sutnar Faculty and the Industrial Design studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague collaborated on designing products intended for aesthetic medicine workplaces during summer term.

The collaboration between the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design has been ongoing since the beginning of the summer term, not only on distance but also in the studios in Plzeň and Prague. Thanks to the joint project, students from both institutions visited aesthetic medicine facilities in Plzeň and Prague. These excursions enabled them to consult their projects with experts and evaluate how their projects would function in practice. A special thanks belong to Alexandra Butková from the Esthé Clinic of Aesthetic Medicine, who consulted the proposals of students from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), and Petra Štenglová, Dis. from the Medical Institut Care, who worked with students from the Product Design studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art. Students from both teams mutually exchanged observations and impressions that they gained during the excursions, which were an important input for their further work on the project.

The collaboration also involved an exchange of tutors. Students from Plzeň had the opportunity to consult their work with Prof. M.A. Ivan Dlabač, the head of Industrial Design studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, while the Prague students  benefited from consultations with Assoc. Prof. MgA. Zdeněk Veverka, who leads the Product Design studio at Sutnar Faculty.

The final meeting of both studios, where term-long projects were presented, took place in Plzeň. The students' work was evaluated by both professors and experts from the aesthetic medicine clinic.
