Over the past months, international students have engaged in academic life at the University of West Bohemia, they formed new friendships, and discovered Czech culture and customs. Their presence enriched the university environment and brought new perspectives both inside and outside the classroom.

The Farewell Dinner was organized by the student organization ESN Pilsen in collaboration with the International Office of the University of West Bohemia. It was an opportunity not only to meet and reminisce about the moments shared together but also to celebrate a formal farewell before the international students returned to their home countries. This event has become a nice tradition that highlights the importance of international exchange programs for the academic community. Approximately 100 guests attended the Farewell Dinner, including more than 50 exchange students, 15 members of the student organization ESN Pilsen, International Office coordinators, and representatives from the university's faculties.

During the 2023/24 academic year, a total of 280 international exchange students came to the University of West Bohemia through the Erasmus+ programme and other programs. In the winter semester, we had 180 international students at UWB; 40 students continued their studies into the following semester. In February 2024, another 100 students arrived for the summer semester.

International students most frequently attended the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This academic year, the largest number of students came from Spain, France, Portugal, and Italy.
