First place in the prestigious TOP STYL DESIGNER competition was won by Lujza Danišová and Richard Novotný with their Synergy collection, featuring complete outfits complemented by leather handbags and belts. Their work impressed the jury with its thoughtful concept and craftsmanship. The collection is based on variability – individual pieces can be mixed and matched, extending their lifespan and offering an alternative to fleeting fast fashion.
Daniela Tomková's collection also achieved success, winning in the Professional View category of the Jana Pivečka Foundation Awards for her handbag collection inspired by iconic leather goods archetypes of the 20th and 21st centuries. Daniela focused on materials and craftsmanship that contribute to long-term durability and timeless design. "The resulting collection expresses the idea that true confidence doesn't need ostentation, but lies in a firm inner stance and conscious approach to values," the author said about her collection. Her colleague Ema Kostlánová received honorable mention in the same category for a handbag that combines elegant appearance with practical use. She created an accessory suitable for both everyday wear and social events – an example of design that supports the principle of aesthetic sustainability.
The jury appreciated both the craftsmanship and fresh approach to the theme in all cases. "This is the first placement of our students in the TOP STYL DESIGNER competition," said studio head Pavel Ivančic, adding: "Students from our studio have received awards in the Jana Pivečka Foundation Awards in the past, but this year they also succeeded in the Professional View category, focused not only on footwear but also on fashion accessories and leather goods. Participation in the trade fair has a crucial impact on students' professional careers. It serves as a reference for further studies, a launching pad for international competitions, and valuable contact for future collaboration with professionals."
The ceremonial announcement of winners, held on August 24 at the Brno exhibition center during the STYL and KABO trade fairs, was also attended by First Lady Eva Pavlová, who became the patron of the competition.
