Students of FZS led a first aid talk in the TOTEM centre

Talk Students Public

Students of the Paramedical Science at the Faculty of Health Care Studies gave seniors the opportunity to try out, for example, resuscitation.

On 9th April the discussion on first aid was held for the Intergenerational and Volunteer Centre TOTEM z.s. prepared by students of Paramedical science at the Faculty of Health Care Studies of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The discussion for the public was attended mainly by seniors at the branch in Nová Hospoda.

Active first aid training was a great benefit for those present seniors. Seniors had the opportunity to practice resuscitation and gain knowledge on how to recognize the signs of a heart attack or stroke. The discussion on this topic further deepened their awareness of first aid. They left the discussion with new knowledge that they can use in the future not only for themselves but also to save someone else's life. "I am very glad that the discussion was also held as part of an intergenerational meeting of students and seniors, which allowed us to connect different generations and share important information about saving life," said Markéta Hallová, coordinator of the TOTEM Nová Hospoda branch.

Seniors were really curious, they asked questions and we very much appreciate the fact that they left the meeting enthusiastic.
