After several presentations in Pilsen and Prague galleries, the Venus Today exhibition is moving into the city's open space for the first time – to the Radbuza river waterfront at the area called Podšálek. It will showcase the work of Sutnar Faculty students who drew inspiration from archaeological finds and images of femininity throughout art history, translating them into contemporary language.
Under the curatorial guidance of Daniela Kramerová, a diverse collection has emerged that opens up questions related to women's status and forms of female identity today. The open-air installation thus provides an opportunity for both random passersby and visitors to cultural events on the waterfront to see how the young generation of creators responds to current social issues.
The project is realized with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the statutory city of Pilsen.
