During the three-day blood donation marathon at the Transfusion Department of the Faculty Hospital in Plzeň, a total of 338 donors, part of them thanks to the University Vampire, gathered.

From April 16 to 18, the University Vampire took place again at the Transfusion Department of the Faculty Hospital in Plzeň. Students from the Faculty of Education at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň once again spearheaded this event, actively organizing and promoting activities aimed at reaching not only regular blood donors but also potential new first-time donors.

Before the event itself, the University Vampire had pre-registered about 150 volunteers. They all received informational instructions, which were especially welcomed by first-time donors, who made up over 45% of the participants.

"We thank you for your support in the past few days. I hope we can repeat the event in the autumn, and that donors enjoyed their time with us," said Eva Rohrbacherová, who coordinated the event for the transfusion station.

The Faculty of Education at the University of West Bohemia and the Transfusion Department of the Faculty Hospital in Plzeň organize the University Vampire to promote charity and raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. The 26th edition of this event took place as the second one after the COVID hiatus.

A big thank you to all donors. The University Vampire is looking forward to seeing them again in the fall.
