The Mass, officiated by Bishop Tomáš Holub, will take place on January 30th at St. Bartholomew's Cathedral.
The Chamber Orchestra Consortium musicum, affiliated with the Faculty of Education at the University of West Bohemia, and the vocal ensemble Kolegium pro duchovní hudbu Klatovy, have initiated a requiem mass for the victims of the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, on December 21st of the previous year. The leadership of the University of West Bohemia (ZČU) has fully supported and joined the initiative.

The requiem mass will be held at St. Bartholomew's Cathedral in Pilsen on Tuesday, January 30th, starting at 7:00 PM, under the patronage of the rector of ZČU, Miroslav Lávička, in collaboration with the dean of the Faculty of Education, Pavel Mentlík, and the dean of the Faculty of Arts, David Šanec. The celebration will be conducted by Bishop Tomáš Holub.

The tragedy particularly affected members of the Kolegium pro duchovní hudbu, as some of them have studied or are currently studying at the Faculty of Arts. Two choir members combined their studies with the Institute of Musicology, whose head, PhDr. Lenka Hlávková, Ph.D., tragically passed away in the attack. Students from the Institute of Musicology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, were also invited to participate in the requiem mass, where they will perform the composition "Missa pro defuncto Archiepiscopo" by Sigismund Johann Michael Haydn.

Students, faculty, and staff of ZČU, as well as the general public, are welcome to attend.
