On Tuesday, October 20, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, the Kulturka space in Pilsen will host a workshop for making worry stones. Following the huge success of the pilot workshop last semester, the University of West Bohemia is bringing it back. With almost nothing left of the previous batch of 800 stones after the start of the new academic year, it is time to replenish the supply, not only for incoming first-year students, but for anyone who needs a little pocket-sized calm.
A worry stone is a small ceramic object designed to fit comfortably between your thumb and index finger. When dealing with stress or anxiety, rubbing it helps ground your mind and bring your focus back to the present moment.
Participants can make a stone for themselves or create a gift for someone else in the university community. No artistic talent or prior experience with ceramics is needed. Anna Šupolíková and Tomáš Černý from the Ceramics Studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art will guide participants through the entire process step by step. The workshop is English-friendly.
