From 15 to 19 April, the Faculty of Health CareStudies of UWB hosted Slovak colleagues from two partner universities. The University of Prešov was represented by Ľubomíra Lizáková from the Department of Nursing and Ľudmila Andraščíková from the Department of Dental Hygiene, the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra by Ľuboslava Pavelová and Erika Krištofová from the Department of Nursing.

The aim of the visit was clearly to strengthen and deepen the existing cooperation. The Faculty of Health Care Studies has been cooperating with the University of Prešov since 2017 and every year colleagues and students return to Pilsen as part of Erasmus+ exchange mobility. This time the mutual discussion was related to work on joint research activities and a study on the importance of communication in healthcare. The Faculty also has a long-standing partnership with the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. During the visit, the colleagues from Nitra had the opportunity to discuss curricula, current projects and a comparison of clinical practices of both institutions with academic staff from the field of general nursing, on the basis of which the contents of the curricula and the organisation of clinical practices of the students could be compared.

The programme of the visit also included a tour of the Faculty of Health Care Studies and its specialized classrooms and simulation centre, a tour of the UWB campus and the historical centre of Pilsen. Colleagues from Prešov also had the opportunity to visit the Psychiatric Hospital in Dobřany and learn about its functioning, they also had a look into the Pilsen historical underground.
