On 22 September, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen will once again host its traditional Year One festival on the Bory campus. Designed especially for new students, the event will help first-years find their way around the university and get off to a confident start in their first semester. Student clubs and a range of university services will be presenting themselves at the UWB University Library, but it will be far from an ordinary information fair.
Expect plenty of practical tips to help you settle into university life. You’ll learn how to balance your studies, work, and free time, while our dormitory MasterChef will share clever ways to cook tasty meals on a student budget. If you’re feeling creative, there will be hands-on activities, too. Looking for something more adventurous? Join our escape game, take on an outdoor challenge, or head out for a run around the campus. And when it’s time to unwind, a yoga session accompanied by a live DJ will help you relax and recharge.
If all that activity works up an appetite, don’t worry. Grab a seat by the campfire, roast a sausage or a vegetarian alternative, and enjoy it to the sound of live guitar music. There will be plenty to drink as well. And the fun doesn’t end there: the very next day, you can head to the Pilsner brewery for SemestrON, our big university kick-off party, a perfect place to make new friends and create unforgettable memories.
