The University Library invites you to an exhibition of photographs taken by Petr Jiras. The opportunity to see the original photos lasts from 23rd September to 1st November 2024.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, 1st October at 18:00, with a performance by the NoTa Plzeň dance group.

The exhibition presents the artist's view of his contemporary relationship to the world and his state of mind in the form of a dramatic story using photographic expression in collaboration with dance performer Lenka Jíšová.

Photographer and lecturer of the FOTOZASTÁVKA workshops, Petr Jiras, has been active in his field since 1988. He graduated from the Prague School of Photography. He worked at VD Fotografia in Pilsen as a photojournalist. He has been working as a freelance advertising photographer for many years. He photographs well-known local and international musicians and dancers, such as the dance group NANOHACH Prague and other dance projects. His creative domain is personal portraits. He exhibits in the Czech Republic. He organized the event "Fotospojka" in Pilsen as part of the event "Kontejnery K Světu", which contains portraits of more than 1500 people, mainly Pilseners. He has been cooperating for many years with non-profit organizations in the Pilsen region.
