The army development, security in Europe and what ordinary citizens of the Czech Republic can do – these are the topics of the first Security Conference in Pilsen on 16 April 2025 under the auspices of Chief of General Staff Karel Řehka and the Governor of the Pilsen Region, Kamal Farhan.

Citizen: the basis of state security is the subtitle of the first ever security conference, which will be held in Pilsen in mid-April by experts from the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of West Bohemia. The morning part of the conference is closed and for invited only.

At 13:30, an expert debate on security challenges in the contemporary world will begin, to which the general public is invited after prior registration. After the student panel, the panelists will include, among others, Gen. Karel Řehka , former Czech Ambassador to NATO Dr. Jakub Landovský and many others.

Topics discussed will include the role of the citizen in the security of the state, technological progress in the development of the Czech Armed Forces, which will be illustrated by the example of the purchase of F-35 aircraft for the Czech Air Force, and the question of how the war in Ukraine affects the security of Europe.
