12. června, 17:00 - 31. července, 17:00
Mestské kultúrne stredisko Hviezdoslavova 4, Nové Mesto nad Váhom
Intended for: the public
The exhibition Bonds and Traditions presents the work of Tereza Pisklákova, a graduate of the Didactic Illustration Studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art. In her works, traditions and bonds are meant to become a source of deep introspection and visual poetry – referencing cultural memory and spiritual values.
The core of the exhibition consists of original illustrations from the author's book Mazal Tov! A Journey Through Life in Jewish Tradition, published by Práh Publishing in 2023. The book originated from the author's bachelor's thesis and loosely follows up on the student project The Mysterious Bond, which also reflects Jewish culture.
Exhibition visitors have a unique opportunity to compare the illustrations from the book with the displayed originals and gain insight into their creative process. The exhibition is complemented by samples from the master's thesis Gabriel's Bond: Stories of Rings, other free works by Tereza Pisklákova, and works by her guests – graduates of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art as well as renowned illustrator Renáta Fučíková.
The exhibition is curated by art theorist Andrea Sloupová, Vice-Dean for External and International Relations at FDA UWB.
