The Faculty of Education of the University of West Bohemia invites you to the Semler Residence on Monday, 5 October, at 6:00 p.m. for the launch of the publication Jan Vičar – Musical Traveler by Romana Feiferlíková and Daniela Mandysová from the Department of Music Education. The evening will also feature a discussion with Jan Vičar and both authors of the book. Recordings of Vičar's selected compositions will complement the program. Jiří Hlobil will moderate the event.

Jan Vičar is a distinguished composer, music theorist, educator, and publicist. The discussion will introduce both his personality and his work, while also offering an insight into Vičar’s creative process as a composer and the links between musical composition, theory, and teaching practice. According to the organizers from the Faculty of Education, the program is particularly suitable for talented secondary school students. They recommend this opportunity to meet a prominent figure in Czech music as a source of inspiration for their own artistic development, further studies, and future careers.
